Family First Homecare (FFHC) is actively hiring compassionate Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) for night, overnight, and weekend shifts providing one-on-one pediatric home care. These high-need shifts offer consistent scheduling, strong clinical support, and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of children and their families.

What You’ll Do

As a Licensed Practical Nurse with Family First Homecare, you will provide skilled nursing care under the supervision of an RN, in accordance with FFHC policies, State Nurse Practice Acts, and all applicable State and Federal regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide nursing care within LPN scope of practice
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
  • Monitor patient status and report changes to the supervising RN
  • Assist with implementation of patient care plans
  • Educate patients and caregivers on care routines and treatments
  • Support FFHC’s mission by assisting with patient-specific nurse orientations as assigned
  • Participate in Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) activities as requested
  • Attend and complete all required trainings and in-services
  • Maintain patient and family confidentiality at all times
  • Demonstrate professional, supportive, and responsive communication
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Schedule & Work Environment
  • Primary need: Nights, overnights, and weekends
  • Flexible shift lengths: 8, 10, or 12 hours
  • Availability may include any day of the week (Sunday–Saturday)
  • Care provided exclusively in patients’ homes (not a facility)
  • Training may occur in an office setting
  • Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance

Required Qualifications

Education & Licensure

  • Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing Program
  • Unencumbered LPN license in the state of employment or Multi-State license where applicable

Experience & Credentials

  • New Graduates encouraged to apply (training provided)
  • Prior nursing experience preferred but not required
  • Valid CPR certification with in-person, instructor-led skills check
  • Working knowledge of applicable Nurse Practice Acts
  • Clear background screening
  • Valid driver’s license and proof of insurance (state-specific)
  • Clear TB and Hep B screening (state-specific requirements apply)
State-Specific Requirements

Florida:

  • Valid driver’s license with proof of insurance

Illinois:

  • Driver’s license and insurance not required
  • Staff are prohibited from driving patients
  • Hep B screening completed during onboarding

Pennsylvania:

  • Additional background checks: Child Abuse Clearance and FBI fingerprinting
  • TB screening: 2-step PPD or 1-step with prior 2-step documentation within one year

Texas:

  • N/A
